Each year thousands of people from all over the country/world utilize our genealogy and local history resources to find information about their ancestors. This project will enhance their ability to locate specific names, street, and businesses associated with their families since the volumes will be scanned and made full-text searchable. Digitization will increase the use of these early New Castle City, Lawrence County and regional directories (1872-1921) while preserving the original volumes which are in poor condition. Patrons will have access to the directories 24/7.
