Collection of newspaper clippings, press releases and memoranda detailing the activities of and promoting the ideas of the Council of National Defense and the Committee of Public Safety. These may have been used as propaganda tools during World War I to entice recruitment, heighten troop morale, support farm productivity, and press the necessity for home front support. Images are arranged chronologically by date of clipping. This collection is part of the Office of the Governor which has since the Constitution of 1790 placed supreme executive power in the Office of the Governor.
