This collection contains files relative to the Governor’s Sportsman Advisory Council and Governor’s Youth Sportsmen Advisory Council. These groups were created by the Governor’s Office, and reported directly to the Governor on concerns affecting sportsmen in the state, most notably hunting and fishing issues. Included are agendas and meeting minutes of the Governor’s Youth Sportsmen Advisory Council for the years 2002 and 2003; year-end reports of the Governor’s Sportsman Advisory Council, 1996-1998; reading files of both Councils, 2001-2003, which include articles, correspondence, legislation, meeting minutes, etc.; and the personal files of the first executive director of the Governor’s Sportsman Advisory Council, Vern Ross, 1996-1999.
