This collection contains meeting minute books, arranged chronologically by meeting date, of the State Board of Education. A typical record includes the date, time and location of the meeting, a list of the names of those members attending the meeting, and a summary of the discussion. Topics discussed include admission requirements, committee appointments, curricula, appropriations, expenses, investigations, lighted school rooms, graduation requirements, conditions of school buildings, legislation, physical education, vocational education, and federal education reports and plans. The minute book index cards date from 1920 to 1997 and provide information on actions and subjects discussed during board meetings, the date of the discussions and the resulting actions with dates.
