Session A
Gale e-resources for K-12 School Libraries
This session, geared toward School Librarians, will focus on the newly acquired Gale e-resources. The session will cover e-resources appropriate for elementary, middle, and high school students. The Gale e-resources that will be covered in this session are Kids InfoBits, Research In Context, Gale Virtual Reference Library, InfoTrac Student Edition, and Educator’s Reference Complete. An overview of the products will be given and participants will have the opportunity for hands-on learning. We’ll also share best practices for getting the most of these e-resources in your library and how you can integrate them into classrooms and professional development.
Session B
Gale e-resources for All
This session, geared toward Public and General Reference Librarians, will focus on the newly acquired Gale e-resources. The session will cover e-resources appropriate for public, academic, and school library patrons of all ages. The Gale e-resources that will be covered in this session are Academic OneFile, General OneFile, InfoTrac Collections, InfoTrac Newsstand, Business Insights: Essentials, and Books and Authors. An overview of the products will be given and participants will have the opportunity for hands-on learning. We’ll also share best practices for getting the most of these e-resources in your library and how you can integrate them into programming and professional development.
Session C
Diving Deeper into Gale e-resources for School Libraries
This session, primarily for School Librarians, will further explore newly acquired Gale e-resources of interest to the school library community and patrons. InfoTrac Newsstand, General OneFile, Academic OneFile, Books and Authors, GREENR, and LitFinder will be covered during this session and an opportunity for hands-on practice will be provided. We’ll share best practices for taking student research to the next level with these resources!
Session D
Gale e-resources for Research and Learning in the Library
This session, primarily for Public and General Reference Librarians, will further explore newly acquired Gale e-resources that support research and learning. The afternoon session will include Gale e-resources that are helpful for homework help, homeschool groups, and academic, public, and school library patrons of all grades and ages. Kids InfoBits, Research In Context, Gale Virtual Reference Library, InfoTrac Student Edition, and LitFinder will be covered during this session and an opportunity for hands-on learning will be provided. We’ll share best practices for serving students with these resources and make sure you’re comfortable finding what they need!
