This collection contains the archive of the “Wilkes-Barre Sunday Independent” newspaper from 1913 through 1958. This newspaper is historically significant to the region, state and nation in many ways since this area became the center of the anthracite industry and contains a vast amount of information on the coal mining industry, including mining accidents.
