In 1947 Meyersdale’s Charles E. Kelly American Legion Post 112 organized its own Drum & Bugle Corps. Consisting of Meyersdale area Veterans of World War II, the local corps became well known for its commanding talent and presence. The veteran musicians went on to claim the title of Class C Pennsylvania State Champions in 1953.
