Meyersdale Public Library – Meyersdale Area High School Yearbooks

The Meyersdale High School published its first yearbook, titled “The Comet” and numbering some 25 pages, in 1910. The school’s next yearbook publication came in 1926, when students produced “The Pioneer.” Numbering 80 pages, it was dedicated as follows: “To the members of the faculty who have all proved themselves our loyal friends and interested instructors, we, the class of 1926, cheerfully dedicate this, the first annual of the Meyersdale High School.” The next known school yearbook would come in 1937, when that year’s graduating class dedicated the first issue of “The Hi-Point” to Professor Charles F. Saylor, their supervising principal. Still known as the Hi-Point today, the yearbooks making up this collection represent those published annually through 2011 by what is now the Meyersdale Area School District. The books were digitized by Meyersdale Public Library staffer Betty Christy and her husband Barry Christy.
