The town of Wilmore was founded around 1800 by Godfrey Wilmore a former slave from Maryland and his former indentured wife Mary. The Wilmore’s operated a sawmill and were close friends with Father Demetrius Augustine Gallitzin, a Catholic priest. This collection consists of items associated with the town of Wilmore.
