Viewing materials in your web browser in PA Photos and Documents does not require a special viewer and if you want to download files to view offline, you should be able to open most file formats for materials offered in PA Photos and Documents with the software already installed on your computer. However, the one exception is the JPEG2000 file format (.JP2 file extension).
Please find below some options for viewing materials in the JPEG2000 format.
WINDOWS
IrfanView with plugins suite
Be sure to also download plugins by navigating to the Plugins page and selecting download based on how many bits your operating system has (32 or 64 bit).
Once downloaded:
- Open program
- Select Help located on the top bar
- Select Installed Plugins
- Select the JPEG2000 DLL checkbox to enable JPEG2000 functionality
